Applications for 2022 Govt of Ireland scholarships are now open for international students. These awards are available to study either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at the Republic of Ireland.
These scholarships are provided by the government of Ireland through the International Education Scholarship (IES) scheme.
What’s on offer?
The govt of Ireland scholarship provides:
- A full fee waiver of all tuition and other registration costs at university.
- €10,000 stipend for one year’s study, given toward living cost.
How many: A total of 60 scholarships will be awarded for the 2022/2023 academic year.

Which programs are covered?
This scholarship is open to study any discipline, though for one year of undergraduate degree, masters, or PhD. That is, the scholarship may be for:
i. the final year of an undergraduate programme;
ii. one year of a taught master’s degree programme or;
iii. one year of a research programme (e.g. one year of a 2-year research masters or a 3-4-year PhD programme).
Who’s eligible?
For you to be able to receive this scholarship, you must:
- have an offer to study at a university in Ireland.
How about nationality?
Govt of Ireland scholarship is open to international students from any country outside the EU.
