International students who desire to study abroad are welcome to apply for KNB scholarship to study for an undergraduate degree in Indonesia.

KNB scholarship offers an experience of studying in top universities in Indonesia and at the same time living in one of the world’s most diverse and vibrant
society.

This scholarship is open to students from developing countries.

What’s the value of this award?

KNB scholarships covers:

1. A Settlement allowance of IDR 1,500,000 will be given to new students upon their arrival in Indonesia;

2. While taking the Indonesian language course and preparatory programs, the new students will only receive living allowance and book allowance that will be distributed monthly;

3. During the Academic Program, the KNB scholarship recipients will receive monthly allowance that consists of living allowance and research and book allowance;

4. A health insurance with a maximum of IDR 400,000 monthly premium (In case of the cost of medical services exceeded to those covered by the health insurance, the difference should be borne by the student);

5. A round-trip international airfare (economy class) from the international airport of your home country to Indonesia, including local transport to the host university;

6. The duration of scholarship is exclusively correlated to the duration of the academic program as indicated below;

Please note that the KNB scholarship is calculated to support the KNB student costs only. There is no provision for dependents. You are advised not to bring dependents to Indonesia.

Also, other expenses beside those mentioned above will be considered as personal expenses and will be borne by the students.

Can I know more about this scholarship?

i. This scholarship is awarded under the developing countries partnership scholarship (KNB) program in Indonesia.

ii. The scholarship is offered to potential students from the developing countries to get their bachelor’s degree in wide range of discipline (please be advised that the study program offered differs by university).

iii. KNB scholarships are awarded each year to undergraduate students who desire to study in Indonesia.

Who can apply?

To be eligible and considered for a KNB scholarship, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Not be more than 25 years old;
2. Hold a High School degree (please provide the scanned degree certificate and academic transcripts in English).
3. Have the English Proficiency Test Score as follows: IBT TOEFL of 80, IELTS of 6.0, TOEIC of 700(the cerficate must be obtained within the last 2 Years).
4. Provide the recommendation letter to apply for the KNB scholarship from the Indonesian Embassy or the Indonesian Consulate General.
5. Provide recommendation letter to apply for the KNB scholarship from the employer/immediate supervisor.
6. Provide Academic Recommendation Leer from previous schools.
7. Prove of citizenship (Official Passport or Personal ID).

How do I apply?

Please follow the instructions below to apply online.

1. Go to http://knb.kemdikbud.go.id
2. Enter your email address and click ‘sign up’
3. Download the invitation letter;
4. Submit the Invitation letter, Passport, Academic Certificates and Academic Transcripts to the Indonesian Embassy or Indonesian Consulate to acquire the recommendation letter;
5. Complete the online application process;

Selection process

The Selection Results will be broadcasted online through the KNB Scholarship Website and officially announced through the Indonesian Embassy publication network;

As you apply for KNB scholarship, please note the following:

1. You are strongly advised to collect as many information as possible on the universities and your desired study program.

2. Please be advised that once you are admitted, changing either the universities or your study program is strictly prohibited.

3. The recommendation letter from Indonesian Embassy is mandatory. The recommendation leer will be issued based on verification and necessary background and/or security checks conducted by the Indonesian Embassy.

In case of no Indonesian official representative in your country, you need to obtain the leer from any Indonesian Embassy accredited to your country.

4. All the required documents have to be written or officially translated in English.

5. The participants from English speaking country are not automatically excluded from the requirement to attach the written prove of their English proficiency.

6. The universities will be conducting the selection process that should include (if necessary) online interview with the potential candidates.

When’s the deadline?

• The online application process for KNB scholarship must be completed no later than May 4th, 2021.
• The selection result will be announced on the 1 week of June 2021.
• The confirmation deadline is on July 1, 2021.
• The new KNB awardees are expected to arrive in Jakarta on August 5, 2021.
