The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation scholarship is one of the newest scholarships available to study in Nigeria.
This scholarship is available to study a full-time undergraduate degree in a Nigerian university.
This scholarship is available to students who have an interest to study Medicine and Surgery at any of these universities in Nigeria:
1. Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU)
2. Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU)
3. Chukwumeka Odumegwu University, Uli, Anambra State (COOU)
4. Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki (EBSU)
5. Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT)
6. Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU)
7. Rivers State University, Porthacourt (RSU)
8. University of Calabar (UNICAL)
9. University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN)
10. University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID)
11. University of Ibadan (UI)
12. University of Jos (UNIJOS)
How many: 650 scholarships will be awarded in this application round.
While 100 students will be awarded to study at Abia State University, 50 students each will be awarded the scholarship to study at the other universities.

How much is this scholarship worth?
Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation scholarship covers school fees, accommodation, and stipends for the entire duration of your study in the university.
Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation also pays for the JAMB and Post UTME application fees of successful candidates.
So here is the breakdown to receive the scholarship amount:
Once you gain admission into the university, your school fees and accommodation fees (all first year to final year) will be paid directly to the university by Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation.
However, the foundation will send the stipend directly to your bank account.
Which Nationalities are eligible?
This scholarship is available to citizens and residents of Nigeria.
Who can apply?
You are eligible to apply for this scholarship if:
1. You are willing to gain admission into a Nigerian university in the 2022/2023 academic year.
2. Have good grades at o’level (WAEC or NECO). Having As in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology is an added advantage.
3. Apply for and gain admission to study Medicine at any of the selected universities above in the 2022/2023 academic year (that is, by enrolling the 2022 JAMB).

How to apply for the scholarship
Application for this scholarship is submitted by email. To apply, you are required to send the following documents:
1. Photocopy of your WAEC or NECO result slip.
2. Self-introduction letter (that is, write about yourself) of not more than 200 words.
When is the deadline?
The Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation scholarship application runs from Friday 20th August, 2021 to Monday 20th September, 2021. You may refer to their website for additional information.
