The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku/Ozalla, Enugu welcome application from graduates of medical fields for the following one-year internship positions:
1. Nutrition and Dietetics Interns
2. Intern Nurses
4. Intern Dental Technologists
5. Intern Dental Therapists
6. Intern Physiotherapists
7. Intern Radiographers
8. Intern Optometrist
9. Intern Medical Laboratory Scientists
Those are the available internship positions at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) for 2021.
Who can apply?
You can apply for 2022 UNTH internship positions if you have the following qualifications.
1. Nutrition and Dietetics Interns
You can apply for Nutrition and Dietetics internship at UNTH if you have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (B.Sc.) from a recognized university.
2. Intern Nurses
You can apply for Nursing internship at UNTH if you have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Sciences (B.Sc. or B.Nurs.) from a recognized university.
You must also be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
3. Intern Pharmacists
You can apply for Pharmacist internship at UNTH if you have a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) from a recognized university.
You must also be registered with the Pharmacists Registration Board of Nigeria (PRBN).
4. Intern Dental Technologists
You can apply for Dental Technologist internship at UNTH if you have a Bachelor of Technology degree (B.Tech.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dental Technology from a recognized institution.
5. Intern Dental Therapists
You can apply for Dental Therapy internship at UNTH if you have a Bachelor of Technology degree (B.Tech.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dental Therapy from a recognized health institution.
6. Intern Physiotherapists
You can apply for Physiotherapy internship at UNTH if you have a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Rehabilitation (BMR) degree from a recognized university.
You must also be registered with the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria (MRTRBN).
7. Intern Radiographers
You can apply for Radiography internship at UNTH if you have a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Radiography (B.Rad.) from a recognized university.
You must also be registered with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
8. Intern Optometrists
You should have a Doctor of Optometry (OD) from a recognized university. And also be registered with the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria.
9. Intern Medical Laboratory Scientists
You can apply for Medical Laboratory Science internship at UNTH if you have a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS.) from a recognized university.
You must also be registered with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
NOTE: You should NOT apply for this internship positions if you do not have your statement of result and current practicing license (where applicable).
How much are UNTH interns paid?
The salary scale for Nutrition and Dietetics interns, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Science, Dental Technology, and Dental Therapy is CONHESS 08.
While the salary scale for Nursing interns is CONHESS 07.
Basically, the salary structure for the above internship positions at UNTH is same as obtainable in the Federal Civil Service.
How to apply for UNTH internship positions 2022
You are required to send (and address) two (2) copies of your application (typed) to:
The Director of Administration,
University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital,
Ituku/Ozalla,
P.M.B. 01129, Enugu.
The following documents should be included in your application:
1. Two (2) copies of your Certificate (s) and Testimonial (s).
2. Two (2) copies of your Curriculum Vitae (CV).
3. Two (2) copies of your Birth Certificate or Sworn Age Declaration.
4. Two (2) copies of Local Government Identification Certificate.
IMPORTANT: Applicants are also required to submit a referees’ report.
You are to give names of three (3) referees and ask your referees to forward their reports direct to the Director of Administration, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku/Ozalla, P.M.B. 01129, Enugu.

Please will they still go for youth service after the one year internship program?
You are supposed to do your internship first before service, except for nutrition and dietetics, who go for service before internship.
