Ever wanted to know more about Africa? This blog will expose you to all African countries and their region.
Most times being smart is knowing a little about anything, if not everything.
Without arguments you would agree with me that you usually feel high up in public when you are conversant with a topic of discussion.
True. Right?
It only gets better when someone affirms a point you made, you immediately have a boost
in self esteem.
A quick snap.

Imagine if the reverse was the case and you had absolutely no clue about the topic of discussion. I think that’s the peak of embarrassment for everyone.
It may be impossible to know everything but it’s necessary to know as much as possible.
I realized we have a very short attention span and get bored when a concept is complex. So I thought of the best way to assemble all the countries in Africa to make it easy for you to know them by heart.
Well, I came up with something simple and easy to understand. But first you should take note of the following:
AFRICA contains five sub regions which are the East, West, North, South and Middle sub regions.
The Eastern region of Africa contains 18 countries and has the highest number of countries in it.
The Western region of Africa contains 16 countries. One of the country, Nigeria, is ranked as the most populated country in Africa.
The Middle region of Africa contains 9 countries including Sao Tomé & Principe.
Northern region of Africa contains 6 countries including Egypt.
Southern region of Africa contains 5 countries and has the least number of countries in it.
How many countries are in Africa?
Generally, there are 54 independent countries in Africa.
Now lets dive into knowing the countries by names and possibly remembering the sub regions where they fall.
For easy assimilation, I classified all countries into groups using alphabets.
- Group 1 contains letters A,B,C,D,E.
- Group 2 contains letters G,k,L,M,N.
- Group 3 contains letters R,S,T,U,Z.
All alphabets represents the first letter of the countries name. For Clarity, I will be attaching numbers to the alphabets to represent the specific number of countries attached to that alphabet.
Group 1 (20 Countries)
(2A, 4B, 7C, 2D, 5E)

C > Cabo Verde (West Africa), Cameroon (Middle Africa), Central Africa Republic (Middle Africa), Chad (Middle Africa), Comoros (East Africa), Congo (Middle Africa), Cote ‘D’ Ivoire (West Africa).
D > Democratic Republic of Congo (Middle Africa), Djibouti (East Africa).
E > Egypt (North Africa), Eritrea (East Africa), Eswatini (South Africa), Ethiopia (East Africa), Equatorial Guinea (Middle Africa).
Group 2 (19 countries)

G > Gabon (Middle Africa), Gambia (West Africa), Ghana (West Africa), Guinea (West Africa), Guinea Bissau (West Africa).
K > Kenya (East Africa).
L > Lesotho (South Africa), Liberia (West Africa), Libya (North Africa).
M > Madagascar (East Africa), Malawi (East Africa), Mali (West Africa), Mauritania (West Africa), Mauritius (East Africa), Morocco (North Africa), Mozambique (East Africa).
