This programme, popular known as the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) is an annual scholarship. This award is provided by government of the Netherlands though ministry of foreign affairs.
The scholarship is available for:
- short courses (round 1: duration 2 weeks to 12 months; round 2: duration 2 weeks to 7 months);
- master’s programmes (duration 12 to 24 months)
The main focus areas of the Orange Knowledge Scholarship Programme are;
- sexual and reproductive health and rights
- security and rule of law
- food and nutrition security
- water management
Though you can still apply for the scholarship if your course is not within the mentioned areas.

The scholarship is fully funded for eligible programmes in the Netherlands.

Eligibility
You are eligible for the Orange Knowledge scholarship programme if you are from, and working in any of the following countries:
Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Colombia, Congo (DRC), Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Vietnam, and Yemen.
In addition, the scholarship is for applicants who are:
- motivated;
- proficient in English or French;
- working in one of the priority areas for their country;
- can motivate using and transferring your knowledge and experience in your employing organisation after your studies;
- agreeing to the scholarship obligations and conditions.
How to apply
To ensure a successful application to this scholarship, prepare the following:
- employer statement
- motivation
- passport
- government statement (if you are a civil servant)
- OKP application page
Note that the Orange Knowledge Programme is for working class individuals. Student’s are not eligible to apply.
Deadline
Applicants to the OKP scholarship should complete their application between 28 June – 5 September 2023 for courses starting after 1 February 2024.
