What does the scholarship cover?
Chinese government scholarship is fully funded. This particular scholarship awarded to study at Dalian University of Technology provides:
– Exempt from tuition, accommodation on campus;
– Monthly allowance:
- Master Degree Students: 3,000 CNY/month
- Doctor Degree Students: 3,500 CNY/month
– Comprehensive Medical Insurance;
But you are expected to pay for your own travel expenses to China if you are selected for a scholarship.

Who can apply?
In order to be considered eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria set by the scholarship provider:
1. Citizenship requirement
- Be a non-Chinese citizen and in good health.
2. Academic qualification and age criteria:
- You must have a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years if you are applying for a master’s degree.
- You must have a master’s degree and be under 40 years if you are applying for a doctoral degree.
3. Language requirement
For the Ph.D and Master applicants, the final tutor and department could evaluate your language level according to the interview or written test. This information is just as stated by the scholarship provider.
But HSK certificate (within 2 years) is required for the Chinese-taught program, that is if you want to study in Chinese.
In this case, you should meet this requirement depending on your program:
- HSK 4 180 or above for majors related to Science, Technology, Management and Economics;
- HSK 5 180 or above for majors related to Humanities and Social Science, Philosophy.
However, English certification is required for the English-taught program, that is if you want to study in English.
In this case, you should meet one of these requirement:
- Submit a TOEFL or IELTS transcript, in principle, the score must be 80 or higher, and the IELTS score must be 5.5 or higher OR
- Submit the language certificate issued by your last school if English was used as the language of instruction.
- You are exempted from presenting a proof of English proficiency if you are from a country where English is the official language.
How to apply
This scholarship application also require you to apply for a graduate program at Dalian University of Technology, China. You can do that on their website by February 15, 2024 at the latest.
