The Lester B. Pearson (LBP) Scholarship is the most prestigious award offered to international students to study at University of Toronto.
This scholarship can be used to study any undergraduate course at Toronto. Provided you are from outside Canada, you may qualify for this scholarship.
What’s in the scholarship?
The Lester B. Pearson (LBP) International Scholarship covers:
- tuition
- books
- incidental fees, and
- full accommodation support
The scholarship covers the above costs for four years.
Just so you know, approximately 37 students are awarded the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship annually.
Who is eligible
You are eligible to apply for this scholarship if you:
- are an international student (i.e. a non-Canadian requiring a study permit);
- currently in your final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2023
- beginning your studies at the University of Toronto in September 2024 (students already attending post-secondary studies cannot be considered; students starting their studies in January 2024 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered).
The bottom line is that if you want this scholarship, you should normally apply to study at University of Toronto for September 2024 entry. It’s the first and next best thing to do.
Ready to apply?
The application process for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship is different compared to most scholarships. But don’t worry, just follow this guide.
To apply, you need to:
1. Receive a nomination from your school. If your secondary school is not aware of LBP scholarship, let them know they can apply to participate in this scholarship.
2. Apply to study at the University of Toronto for September 2024 entry.
Please be advised that you will be considered for the Pearson Scholarship for your first choice of program at University of Toronto.
What does this mean?
You may apply for several courses and may receive admission to all. However, the award of this scholarship is restricted to your first choice course.
3. Complete the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship application form. Once your have completed step 1 and 2 above, you can then be able to apply for the scholarship through the private scholarship application link you will receive.
Deadline
The closing date to apply for the Lester B. Pearson Scholarship to study at University of Toronto is:
- School nomination deadline (Step 1): November 30, 2023.
- Course application deadline (Step 2): December 15, 2023.
- Scholarship application deadline (Step 3): January 15, 2024.
