Here is a fully funded opportunity to study in the United States – the Obama Foundation Scholars Program.
This program supports students from various countries to undertake full-time study at Columbia University, New York city, USA. Students from 47 countries have been welcomed to Columbia University through the program since 2018.
According to information provided by the foundation, the fellowship is a full-time, residential program at Columbia University and cannot be undertaken at the same time as a degree program.
Scholarship Package
Obama Foundation Scholars Program is fully funded and provides:
- All tuition and fees for up to four courses at Columbia University.
- Monthly stipend to assist with living expenses in New York City.
- A furnished studio apartment within walking distance of Columbia University.
- Basic medical, dental and life insurance for the duration of your program in New York City.
- Air travel to and from your home country and any program-related activities.
Who can apply?
No matter your country of origin or residence, you are eligible for this program if you:
1. Are an emerging leader who have made meaningful contribution to your field and are now at a “breakthrough moment” in your career.
2. Have a proven commitment to service and leadership within a community, region or country, coupled with a demonstrated commitment to return to these communities following your completion of the program and apply your enhanced training, skills, and connections on a long-term basis for the benefit of these communities.
3. Are fluent in English (verbal, written and spoken).
4. Have the ability and inclination to positively shape the future of your community.
5. Have a demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, community-orientation, hope, courage, imagination, strategy, accountability, integrity and resilience.
