The African Graduate Fellowship is an award open to eligible African students each year. Applications are now open for 2023.
This fellowship is a competitive program for African students interested in pursuing a masters degree at The American University of Cairo (AUC), Egypt.
Each year, these fellowships are available to eligible students to study full-time in any of the masters degree programs offered at The AUC.
Fellowship Package
An African Graduate Fellowship provides:
i. Tuition fees, for a maximum of nine credits per semester
ii. Stipend
iii. Student services and activities fees
iv. Medical service and health insurance fees
v. A monthly housing allowance for non-residents of Cairo or accommodation in University residences at AUC New Cairo campus
vi. May cover remedial English language requirements
Duration
The fellowship is awarded for a maximum duration of five semesters and one intervening summer session, with a review every semester for satisfactory academic performance. For the Counseling Psychology graduate program, the duration may be extended to a maximum of seven semesters.
Eligibility
This fellowship is open to:
1. Citizens of any African country (non-Egyptian national).
Note: African nationals with dual non-African nationality are not eligible for this award.
2. All disciplines of graduate studies.
3. For new graduate degree-seeking students; admission to one of the graduate programs at The American University of Cairo, satisfying AUC graduate admissions requirements.
4. Submit an International TOEFL iBT exam score or academic IELTS exam score as per the cut-off scores for AUC graduate admissions.
5. For continuing students; to retain the fellowship the recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.2.
6. Display financial need.

Step 2: Submit the African Graduate Fellowship application
Deadline
