AGIP postgraduate scholarship may be what you’ve been searching for.
Each year, the Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) make these scholarships available to eligible Nigerians to study for a postgraduate degree. You can choose to study abroad or in Nigeria.
Therefore, AGIP postgraduate scholarship is awarded in two categories:
- Overseas – for postgraduate at a university abroad
- Local – for postgraduate at a Nigerian university
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship is fully funded, covering all cost for a postgraduate degree. This typically include:
- tuition
- study materials
- field trips
- accommodation
- living expenses, and
- a return air ticket (economy) on completion of your chosen one-year course of study

Who is eligible?
Candidates who meet the following criteria can apply for this scholarship:
1. Have at least Second Class Upper (2:1) degree from a recognized Nigerian university.
2. Have been offered admission at a university in Nigeria or abroad for a one-year Master’s Degree in any of the areas (or related courses) below:
- Geosciences
- Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, Subsea, Electrical/Electronics, Marine, Chemical)
- Petroleum Economics
- Law (Oil and Gas/Petroleum)
3. Not be more than 28 years of age by December 31, 2023.
4. Have completed NYSC.
5. For those wishing to study abroad: Have an international passport valid for travel at least one year from September 2023.
NOTE:
After application, shortlisted candidates will be contacted for scholarship aptitude test through email or sms.

Below are the documents you’ll need to complete agip postgraduate scholarship application and how to apply.
- Passport photograph (450×450 pixels) with white background
- postgraduate admission letter for 2023/2024 academic year into any recognized university (in Nigeria or Abroad). This admission letter must reflect the same course you indicated in your scholarship application.
- Bachelor’s Degree Certificate
- NYSC Discharge Certificate
- Valid ID card (Driver’s license, Voter’s card, National ID card)
- For those who wish to study abroad: Valid International Passport Data Page (that is valid for travel at least one year from September 2023)
- Birth Certificate from Local government
- NAE Compliance Declaration Form (download from the scholarship application link below).
