LLM Scholarship in UK by distance learning 2024

This scholarship is available to pursue a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma and/or the Master of Law (LLB) course at the University of London, UK. But this study will be by distance learning in 2024.

The scholarship is provided by the University of London and Canon Collins Trust, the same organization offering the RMTF Scholarships for Postgraduate in South Africa.

According to the providers, you can start at the Postgraduate Certificate level and work your way through to the LLM. Or you can stop after completing the PG Certificate.

You can also start at LLM level, skipping the PG Certificate and Diploma if you have competed an LL.B degree. So you don’t have to undertake the whole programs.

What’s in the scholarship?

The scholarship shall waive full tuition and examination entry fees for successful candidates. Four scholarships will be awarded.

Scholarship recipients have between 1 to 5 years to complete the qualification, however recipients are required to complete at least two modules per year.

Who is eligible

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be:

1. a citizen of, or have refugee status in, one of the following countries:

  • Malawi,
  • South Africa,
  • Zambia,
  • Zimbabwe

2. be resident in one of those eligible countries.

3. have the necessary qualifications required for admission to the programme for which you are applying.

4. currently employed in full or part-time work.

5. able to commit a minimum of 10 hours to study per week.

Ready to apply?

You will need the following documents to complete this LLM scholarship application.

  • ID document (passport, birth certificate, driver’s license)
  • Academic transcripts, if applying for LLM
  • Degree certificates, if applying for LLM, or school/other certificates
  • Reference letters from two referees
  • A copy of your two most recent payslips.

The two references should be 1 academic and 1 work. But if you are applying to start at PG Certificate level and have not attended university you have permission to submit two work references.
