Applications are now open for 2022 UBA National Essay Competition.
This competition is provided by the United Bank for Africa (UBA) each year. It is targeted at secondary school students across Africa.
Essay Topic:
“ASUU Strikes have often cost Nigerian students time. Advise the Nigerian government on how they can reach an agreement with ASUU to improve tertiary education in the country.”
Essay Package:
Winner: ₦5 million educational grant to any university of your choice in Africa.
1st Runner Up: ₦3 million educational grant to any university of your choice in Africa.
2nd Runner Up: ₦2.5 million educational grant to any university of your choice in Africa.
Who can apply?
To be eligible for this essay competition, you must:
1. be in Senior Secondary school (SSS)
2. submit a handwritten essay (maximum of 750 words).
3. submit a passport photograph.
4. submit a scanned copy of a means of identification (birth certificate, National ID, or passport).
How to apply
Below are documents you will need to apply.
- scanned copy of your original birth certificate OR international passport data page.
- copy of the handwritten essay. Because you are required to upload it on the application portal.
Deadline
Application for UBA National Essay Competition closes on Friday 14th October, 2022.
