Let me add that these scholarships are for students desiring to commence study at Boston by 2021 and are awarded through the Presidential scholarship and Trustee scholarship, so please take note because I will be using those two phrases in italics interchangeably.

What is the scholarship value?

The presidential scholarship is worth $25,000 towards tuition fees at Boston while the Trustee scholarship cover full tuition fee for undergraduate study plus other fees you are required to pay as an undergraduate student at Boston University. So whichever of the two undergraduate scholarship you select in your application and eventually awarded, just know that’s the corresponding value.

What is the duration of support?

The presidential and trustee scholarship is meant to be a support for students intending to commence their studies at Boston in 2021, that is in their first-year, however, it can be renewed for 4 years if you attend all your classes, take your assessments, eventually do well academically, maintain good conduct, and be a high-achiever. What this mean is that it is up to you if you desire to keep enjoying this funding for the entire duration of your undergraduate program at Boston University. How many scholarships are available?

A maximum of 20 scholarships will be awarded on the trustee scholarship while there are no set number of awards to be given on the presidential scholarship which could imply that they intend awarding as many scholarships as possible on the presidential scholarship.

Not all Boston University courses are available for in January admission for these undergraduate scholarships, and because of that, only the following courses are covered:

Science courses: Neuroscience, Geophysics, Astronomy, Architecture, Biology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Marine Science, Archaeology, Economics, Anthropology, Sound Design, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics/Computer Science, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Art courses: History, Spanish, English, French, Russian, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, German, Psychology, Theatre Arts, Philosophy, American studies, Religion, History of Art and Architecture.

Health courses: Human Physiology, Dietetics, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Medicine, Pre-Veterinary Medicine, Nutrition, Health Science, Behavior and Health.

Global courses: International Relations, European Studies.

Communication courses: Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations, Communication.

Fine/Visual Arts courses: Painting, Sculpture, Graphics Design.

Music courses: Music,

Business courses: Business Administration and Management with several areas of specialization.

Education courses: Bilingual Education, Early Childhood Education, English Education, Elementary Education, Science Education, Social Studies Education.

Is this scholarship open to all nationalities?

The presidential scholarship and trustee scholarship (both undergraduate level) at Boston is open to international students from all nationalities, as well as US citizens and permanent residents.

Am I eligible for this scholarship?

It’s best you first determine if you are eligible for the scholarship, and to be considered for these undergraduate scholarship at Boston University, you need to:

How do I apply for the scholarship?

The presidential scholarship and trustee scholarship at Boston comes automatically on admission into Boston University to commence studies in 2021. So what you need to do is:

• apply to study on a degree course at Boston University next year by completing an application online form using the link there which will take you to a page that look like the photo below.

• If you are applying for the first time to an undergraduate course, please click on the first-year student to commence your application.
• Let me give you a tip – while applying, endeavor to select between the presidential scholarship and the trustee scholarship depending on your preference, just know you won’t have both.
• after which no other application for scholarship is required, once you have an offer of a place on a course at Boston, you will automatically be considered for any of the undergraduate scholarships.

Scholarship essay (trustee scholarship only): All applicants desiring to be considered for the trustee scholarship are required to write an essay as part of their application to Boston, which is part of the criteria to be eligible for this scholarship.

But Trustee undergraduate scholarship recipients are creative and curious rather than merely dutiful. Give a glimpse of an intellectual pursuit or challenge that absorbs you, gives you joy, or provoke your curiosity, and tell why.” OR

“One of Boston University’s distinguished alumni, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. wrote that ‘the time is always right to do what is right’. Now is there a time when you sought equity and fairness by challenging a social norm? Or, you can share an example of how you can imagine yourself helping to create a more inclusive and fair community.”

Please be consciously aware that the essay content of any of the topic you chose to write on must not be more than 600 words.

Is this scholarship offered every year?
