Let me quickly inform you that there are three types of scholarship at Manchester university for this year, and depending on your choice, you will be able to apply for the international undergraduate scholarship, vice chancellor’s international scholarship and international postgraduate scholarship. The international undergraduate scholarship is particularly for international students who want to study an undergraduate course while the vice chancellor’s scholarship is for international students who want to study an undergraduate or postgraduate taught course while the international postgraduate scholarship is for applicants who want to study a full-time taught Master’s degree course. For this reason, I will be making reference to the three in this post so that it will help you decide the specific one that suits you, but just know that you will not be allowed to apply for any two as an undergraduate or postgraduate, so you have to go with one.
What is the scholarship value?
The international undergraduate scholarship is worth £2,000 while the vice chancellor’s scholarship for undergraduate and postgraduate is worth £5,000 and the amount is applied toward reduction of your tuition fee. Also, the international postgraduate scholarship for taught Master’s course is worth £2,500 for applicants who have a first-class degree, and £2,000 for applicants with second class degree and below. What is the duration of support?
If awarded the international undergraduate scholarship, you will receive the funding for at most 3 years of your course at Manchester university, which means its paid every year till you finish your course, however, the duration of the vice chancellor’s scholarship and international postgraduate is not specified.
Which courses are covered by this scholarship?
Any undergraduate course you decide to study at Manchester university is funded by this scholarship, provided the tuition fee of the course for international students is more than £15,000. What it means is that the tuition fee of the course you are interested that they charge international students must be more than that amount, and if you select a course that the tuition fee is less than £15,000, you won’t be eligible for any of these undergraduate scholarship. Also, applicants who want to study Architecture at undergraduate level are not covered by any of these scholarship, and the same apply to postgraduate applicants who want to study Architecture.
Is this scholarship open to all nationalities?
These scholarships are open to international undergraduate and postgraduate students from any country outside the European Union, provided you are ready to study at Manchester. In other words, these scholarships are not open to citizens of the EU and UK.
Am I eligible to apply for this scholarship?
You are eligible for this scholarship if you are an international undergraduate or postgraduate applicant planning to study at Manchester Metropolitan University in the 2020/2021 academic year which starts in September 2020. You are also eligible for this scholarship if you already hold an admission offer on a course apart from Architecture, that is if you are already admitted into the university but will start in September this year. The thing is that no other application is required from international applicants because the scholarship is awarded automatically on admission, this is to say that once you have an offer on a course at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, you will automatically be assessed and considered for any of these scholarships depending on the one you indicate interest for when you are applying for the course.
