VLIR-UOS scholarship for masters in Belgium 2024

Study in Flanders, study in Belgium fully funded! You can get your masters in Belgium through this scholarship.

VLIR-UOS scholarship (also known as ICP Connect Scholarship) provide an opportunity to study for a full-time master’s degree at a higher education institution in the Flanders region of Belgium.

The scholarship is awarded toward an initial masters or advanced masters in the following field.

Initial masters (two years)

  • International Master of Science in Agro- and Environmental Nematology
  • International Master of Science in Rural Development
  • Master of Aquaculture
  • Master of Epidemiology
  • Master of Science in Food Technology
  • Master of Science in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management
  • Master of Statistics and Data Science
  • Master in Sustainable Development
  • Master of Transportation Sciences – Road Safety
  • Master of Water Resources Engineering

Advanced masters (one year)

  • Master of Human Settlements
  • Master of Development Evaluation and Management
  • Master of Governance and Development
  • Master of Globalisation and Development
  • Master of Cultural Anthropology and Development Studies (CADES)

What does the studentship cover?

VLIR-UOS scholarship provide:

  • tuition fees
  • travel
  • insurance and
  • living expenses (board and lodging)

This scholarship is tenable only for the duration of your Master’s course in Belgium (12 or 24 months). So you cannot have an extension beyond this period, nor can you apply for a partial scholarship to cover any extension of your course.

Eligibility

Interested candidates who meet the following criteria can apply for VLIR-UOS scholarship:

1. You must be a citizen of the 29 eligible countries below and must also be a resident in one of these countries at the time of applying:

Africa

  • Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi
  • Cameroon
  • Democratic Republic of the Congo
  • Ethiopia
  • Guinea
  • Kenya
  • Madagascar, Morocco, Mozambique
  • Niger
  • Rwanda
  • Senegal, South Africa
  • Tanzania
  • Uganda
  • Zimbabwe

Mauritius Africa Scholarship 2024 | fully funded

Asia

  • Cambodia
  • Indonesia
  • Palestinian Territories
  • Philippines
  • Vietnam

Latin America

  • Bolivia
  • Cuba
  • Ecuador
  • Haiti
  • Nicaragua
  • Peru

2. You must not be older than 35 years by January 1 of entry year of an initial masters and 45 years for an advanced masters.

3. Preference is given to candidates employed in higher education, government or civil society, or those targeting a career in one of these sectors.

According to the scholarship provider, applicants employed in the private sector or newly graduated candidates and have no work experience may also be considered.

4. You may not have previously received a scholarship from the government of Belgium to attend a study programme and may not have enrolled in a study programme at a Belgian higher education institution before January 1 of the entry year.

2. Check through the eligible Master’s courses

3. If you are interested in any one, go to the website of the university offering the course.

4. Apply for admission and the scholarship.

Note: Make sure to not apply for more than one Master’s course per application year.
