With this scholarship, you can study an undergraduate or postgraduate course in the Republic of Mauritius fully funded. So all you have to do is apply for your course and this scholarship to study in the 2024 intake.
What does the scholarship cover?
The scholarship provides all the cost of studying for your degree till completion. It provides the following:
- Tuition fees
- Contribution to living expenses during your studies in Mauritius.
- Return airfare by the most economical route. This will be valid for travel from the country of origin at the start of the studies and back to your country of origin when you finish your studies.

Who can apply?
To be eligible for this Mauritius Government Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
General criteria
- Be from Africa
- Be certified medically fit by issue of a Health Certificate from a recognized Government Hospital.
For Diploma or Bachelor’s degree programme:
- Be from Africa
- Have completed secondary school.
- Be at least 18 years and not more than 26 years by 01 January 2025.
For MPhil:
- Be from Africa
- Have completed a Bachelor’s degree.
- Have a minimum of Second class upper (2.1).
- Not be more than 40 years by 01 January 2025.
For PhD:
- Have completed a Masters degree.
How to apply
1. Apply for a full-time on-campus programme at a tertiary institution of your choice in Mauritius.
You can do that through the scholarship application page.
Note: If you already have an admission offer, you can summit the admission letter along with the scholarship application form. Or you can also a proof that you have completed an application for admission.
2. On completing your application, enclose a copy of the form along with other required documents listed above in an envelop. Send this complete application material to the Federal Ministry of Education in your country. For applicants from Nigeria, submit your application documents to the Federal Scholarship Board, Abuja.
Deadline
Application for the Mauritius Government Scholarship must be completed and documents sent to Minitsry of Education by April 19, 2024 at the latest.
