NPDC/SEPLAT scholarship for Nigerian students (2021)

There is a scholarship opportunity for Nigerian students. The NPDC/SEPLAT scholarship is for Nigerian students who desire funding to support their studies.

Note: scholarship application is completely free. Therefore, no money is required by scholarship providers to apply for any scholarship. Please beware!

First, let me give you a heads up about this scholarship.

– This scholarship is funded by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) and Seplat petroleum development company.

– Please note that this scholarship is for undergraduate students only. That is, students who are already in school, not those seeking admission.

– Also, the scholarship is specifically for students in public universities in the country. So, students in private universities are not permitted to apply. Same apply to students in the polytechnics.

What courses are covered by this scholarship?

The NPDC/SEPLAT scholarship is course-specific. Therefore, only the following courses are covered by this scholarship:

Accounting Economics
Agriculture (all courses) Environmental Studies
Architecture Geology
Business Administration Geophysics
Chemical Engineering Law
Civil Engineering Mass Communication
Computer Science Mechanical Engineering
Computer Engineering Medicine
Dentistry Metallurgical Engineering
Electrical Engineering Petroleum Engineering

Who can apply?

To qualify for NPDC/SEPLAT scholarship, you must:

  • be a registered student of a federal or state university.
  • be in 200 level or above. Students currently in 100 level are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • have a cumulative grade point average (cgpa) of at least 3.5.
  • have at least five credits at o’level (waec, neco, nabteb, or gce) at one sitting.

How to apply

NPDC/SEPLAT scholarship application is online. The great news is, you can even apply for this scholarship yourself using your phone anywhere you are. You don’t need to upload any documents.

So if you follow this procedure, you won’t have any challenge applying.

  • Access NPDC/SEPLAT scholarship application page.
  • Check the ‘consent’ box and click ‘continue’.
  • On the page that opens, enter your;
    • full name.
    • home address.
    • email address.
    • phone number.
    • date of birth.
    • tick the box for your gender (male or female).
    • state of origin.
    • local government of origin.
    • occupation of your parents.
    • your parents (or guardian’s) home address.
    • Click ‘continue’.
  • Fill your academic details by providing;
    • your university name.
    • course of study.
    • year you got admission.
    • select your degree in view (either B.Sc., B.Engr., MBBS, BDS, or others).
    • your current level.
    • your current cgpa.
    • click ‘continue’
  • Provide answers to other questions by ticking the appropriate boxes.
  • Provide your HOD’s name, department, and faculty.
  • Provide your bank account details; account name, account number (without putting the bvn), and your bank name.
  • Tick the box to confirm that your information are correct.
  • Click ‘submit’.

When is NPDC/SEPLAT scholarship test date?

The scholarship test date hasn’t been released. So, applicants will be notified by email. So make sure to use an accessible email in your application.
