Value of this award

Schulich leader scholarships are valued at $100,000 for engineering field and $80,000 for science and mathematics field.

Which programs are covered?

All Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) undergraduate courses at any of the partner universities above are eligible for funding.

Which Nationalities are eligible?

1. Canadian citizen.

2. Canadian permanent resident.

Who’s eligible?

To be considered for a Schulich leader scholarship, you must:

1. Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada.

2. Be a graduating high school student or Cégep in Canada in the 2020/2021 academic year.

3. Plan to enroll in an eligible STEM course at one of the partner universities.

4. Be entrepreneurial minded and intend to pursue a career in one of the following areas:

  • Engineering;
  • Scientific Research;
  • Technology;
  • Entrepreneurship and business enterprise.

5. Meet the following criteria:

  1. Academic excellence;
  2. Leadership, creativity, and charisma.

Who’s NOT eligible?

Therefore, students who want to go into medical sciences, politics, or become a professor are not eligible for Schulich leader scholarships.

How do I apply?

The first step to applying for Schulich leader scholarship is by high school nomination.

So applicants are to first be nominated by their high school. Every high school in Canada can nominate a graduating high school student.

The Schulich leader scholarship nomination form requires:

  1. Name and contact information of your high school.
  2. Name and contact information of your high school’s nominee.

When’s the deadline for nomination?

Graduating high school students must be nominated latest 27 January, 2021.

Applying for Schulich leader scholarships

Once or if nominated, you’ll receive a link by email (submitted during nomination) to complete Schulich leader online scholarship application form.

The online scholarship application include:

1. The universities you desire to attend.

2. Your top three achievements (academic or other).

Not more than 50 words per achievement.

3. An essay explaining why you should win this scholarship (not more than 600 words).

4. Short answer to the question: where do you see yourself in 10 years? (not more than 50 words).

5. Two (2) reference letters (1-page each). Make sure to include contact information for verification.

6. Copy of detailed academic transcript or report.

7. Headshot profile photo for publicity.

Also, its important that you meet the entry requirement of a partner university you select as universities are responsible for selecting Schulich leader scholarship applicants.

Closing date to apply for Schulich leader scholarship is 17 February, 2021.

When will I learn of a decision?
